Amplifying the regeneration of our planet, communities and spirits by empowering leadership and organisations in their life affirming evolution.

OUR PRINCIPLES

At least as important as what we do, is how we do it. The following core principles guide the actions within our team and the collaboration with our clients.

Deep Simplicity

We work from the elegant and powerful place of clear and direct truth, insight and light. All we do is rooted in essential and beautiful simplicity, where all that needs to be said and shown is done so in a deep and minimalistic way.

Focused commitment

When we are in we are fully in. We dive in and give our clients, partners and projects our full and undivided attention and presence. We prefer doing little, and doing it well and we put all our hearts and minds into it!

Heartfelt openness

We perceive and act from the heart. The mind, its concepts, theories and ideas are important tools, which we wield with proficiency, but the real transformation occurs when we connect as human beings on an emotional and spiritual level.

Joyful Enthusiasm

Inspired and sustainable work is fun. We fill our intention, attention and action with joy, and let our enthusiasm flow. Enthusiasm comes from the Greek “having God in oneself” and means joyful excitement for a higher goal, a good cause. That's us.

Compassionate Collaboration

All good things are done together. We join forces and lock hands to fiercely cooperate in the deep and beautiful work we do. This can only flow well if it is rooted in wisdom and compassion, which is the desire to help that comes from empathy. This guides all our actions.

OUR APPROACH

Navigating the dual streams of organisations

At the heart of Flow2's philosophy is the delicate art of balancing two fundamental aspects intrinsic to every organisation: stability and adaptability. On one hand, there lies the imperative to establish a stable, predictable, and efficient stream of operations that underpin competitive value creation. This is the bedrock upon which businesses build their capacity for consistent delivery and performance.

The crux of contemporary success lies in an organisation's ability to discern and seamlessly integrate these modes of operation. Flow2's approach is designed to interweave these threads into the very fabric of an organisation's value creation stream, ensuring that stability does not stifle innovation, nor does agility undermine the foundation. It is within this interplay that an organisation finds its true capacity to flourish and contribute to the regeneration of our society and ecosystem, today and into the future.

On the other hand, we recognize the equally critical need for creativity, innovation, and dynamism. The agility to respond to the ever-evolving challenges presented by our changing world is not just an asset but a necessity. It's where flexibility intersects with foresight, allowing organisations to not just react but proactively shape their trajectory.

OUR APPROACH

Integral understanding of organisational development

At Flow2, our approach is rooted in an integral understanding of organisational development, centred around four essential focal elements. We alway look at the whole picture, so that a holistic intervention is possible, being aware of tensions between elements of the organisation, allowing a flowing evolution.

1. Organisational Culture: Often described as the heart and soul of an organisation, culture comprises the unspoken framework and collective memory that bind its members. It is a tapestry woven from the values, expectations, and 'rules of the game' that operate beneath the surface. Conscious reflection and deliberate influencing of this cultural fabric are pivotal for a future-fit organisation. It is here, in the nuance of shared stories and practices, that we guide leaders to foster a regenerative ethos that supports organisational evolution.

2. Purpose and Strategy: Beyond the subtle undercurrents of culture lies the articulate expression of an organisation's identity: its purpose and vision. These elements provide the clear, explicit articulation of an organisation's identity and its aspirational horizon. We help organisations craft and collectively anchor a resonant strategic purpose and a compelling vision that act as a compass for bold and effective decision-making, propelling the organisation toward new levels of evolution.

3. Organisational Design: The tangible daily operations within an organisation are largely dictated by its structural elements: the roles, processes, divisions and even the IT systems that scaffold the human experience at work. These are the building blocks that can be strategically reconfigured to catalyse transformation. We continuously re-evaluate and reinvent these components, ensuring their alignment and synergistic interaction with culture, strategy, and leadership, to create a cohesive and agile organisation ready to embrace the future.

4. Leadership: Connecting and weaving all the strands together, creating space for evolution, the leadership teams form the core of the organisation. The new era of leadership transcends individual prowess, demanding a coherent and collaborative approach that is deeply values-driven. It's about cultivating a leadership ecosystem that thrives on collective wisdom and unified action. Our role is to facilitate the emergence and evolution of such leadership systems, ensuring that they operate in harmony with the individual growth of each leader, and are equipped to steer through the complexities and dynamics of the contemporary landscape while making a meaningful impact.

OUR APPROACH

Focus on the social systems

We embrace a systemic approach that is embedded in a paradigm shift in organisational development - from a focus directed mainly on individuals to a more expansive vision addressing patterns of communication, decision-making, and culture - the social systems. Our mantra: transform the game, not just the players.

Experience has taught us that individual change, while important, is often insufficient for systemic reform. True transformation emerges by illuminating and reshaping the rules and the context of work - both the explicit processes, structures, and policies, and the implicit expectations, cultural norms, and habits that govern organisational life. Flow2's systemic perspective provides a lens through which the intricacies of today's organisations can be understood and navigated. We invite you to see beyond, embracing a fluid, organic, and dialogic methodology that focuses on that which is between and aligns with the principles of integral organisational development. This perspective equips our clients to decipher challenges in new light and craft innovative interventions, carving paths for organisations to not only adapt but thrive as future-fit entities.

In practice, this means departing from conventional analytic and diagnostic change management and organisational development. Instead, we engage in a systemic and collaborative process, fostering an environment where transformation is not imposed but organically co-created.

Our approach is underpinned by the advanced insights of sociological systems theory, a field that has dramatically evolved from the early 20th-century machine models to today's intricate understanding of human collaboration. The first evolution from a mechanistic to a human-centric approach, while valuable, has not fully addressed the structural challenges that intensify in our digital, globalised era. Traditional models, both mechanistic and humanistic, falter under the weight of market dynamism and complexity, leading to rigidities where flexibility and creativity are desperately needed or to chaotic unstructured workflows, where stability is needed. With modern system theory an integral perspective is possible, allowing us to recognize usually invisible aspects of the greatest challenges and craft innovative interventions for the evolution of the organisations.

OUR APPROACH

Practices rooted in ancestral wisdom

In the fast-paced rhythm of modern leadership, a critical dimension often remains obscured: the inner wellspring from which our consciousness and actions emerge.  Our era is marked by an intense focus on results, rationality, efficiency, and the tangible aspects of organisation, frequently leading to short sighted strategies that, while effective on the surface, can inadvertently generate negative impacts on many levels of the system we are part of. They are frequently disconnected from a deeper source of meaning and purpose.

We at Flow2 believe that many timeless traditions hold deep wisdom about community, collaboration, leadership and sustainability. What makes us unique is that in addition to our expertise in modern innovative organisation approaches we also draw inspiration from ancestral practices, like circle dialogue, meditation and nature retreats,  integrating both seamlessly. Slowing down our conversations and actions, looking inward and to the whole, expanding our awareness and consciousness beyond the ordinary focus of attention and finding our source of nourishment in the presence, the here and now are some of the central aspects of these wisdom traditions.

For example, in circle practice, we change the form of dialogue, creating space for collective insight and shared leadership, honouring every voice as a valuable contribution to the whole. We also find inspiration in silence and nature, allowing other sources to guide our creativity and decisions, transcending rational and analytical thought, extending an invitation to connect with oneself and the environment in a profound way. These practices draw their roots from many ancient spiritual paths and philosophies like Taoism, Buddhism, Shamanism, Kabbalah and many others, and also found their way into the foundations of some of the modern approaches we incorporate into our work, such as Theory-U, PeerSpirt Circle, Mindfulness, World Café and Open Space Technology.

In integrating these ancient practices with contemporary organisational development, we offer a pathway to transformation that is both deep and enduring. Our approach is not just about solving problems but about reimagining ways of being and working together. It’s an invitation to journey back to our roots, to find forward-thinking solutions in the wisdom of the past, that has sustained humanity for generations.
